We had a wonderful stay for my grandson's graduation from Ap State. The cabin exceeded our expectations - large gathering spaces from the decks with rocking chairs and hot tub to the games room, study, spacious dining room, and living room, along with large well-appointed bedrooms and baths. Exceptional experience!!
Beautiful and Relaxing Get Away!

We make this a yearly trip with close friends. Always Hoping for snow.. This time it was just a little sleet.. It's such a great get away with gorgeous views! It's close to town but we never leave. We enjoying grilling, sitting by the fire and relaxing with friends! This was our first time at this cabin. It was so roomy, larger than pictures show and cozy at the same time. So nice having a bathroom per bedroom. This cabin has everything you will need. Well stocked Kitchen, large dinning area, pool table downstairs, hot tub, couches, open fire place living area and dinning area, large master bedroom up stairs with a sitting area, twin beds were on the main floor with second bedroom. The 4th bedroom was down stairs with another living area with gas logs. And don't forget the breathtaking views! It was very clean and well maintained. Recommend this cabin to everyone! It even had a cute wooden doll house downstairs. We can not wait to visit again.

Journey's End is our favorite place to stay in the mountains, it feels like home away from home. Have been staying here since 2007.
Only bad side if there is one is that the property needs a good deep clean. There were cobwebs above the head area and behind some furnishings there was trash and general grime. Nothing major.

Journey's End is Really the Beginning!

We booked our 3rd annual family ski trip many months before Snowstorm Izzy decided to grace the Boone area with a blanket of snow. Imagine our dismay when, the day before our arrival, VCCR called to let us know that the road to our rental cabin was impassable and they were trying to book an alternative cabin. Within 2 hours, we were offered Journey's End, which was the beginning of a spectacular vacation week.
The pictures do not do justice to the features, space, and ambience of Journey's End. The stunning stone fireplace opens into both the living room and dining room. The master BR and loft-office on the top floor gave us an escape area. Two bedrooms on the main floor each have full private bathrooms, with a tasteful half-bath on that floor as well. The downstairs has a full bathroom and another bedroom, with a large den, another fireplace, and a pool table. The hot tub is on the downstairs deck, larger than the picture appears. The dining room is huge and faces east - the rustic table can easily seat 10, with a round game table at the end in front of the fireplace. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the owners kindly leave coffee filters, sugar, and assorted spices for use. The coffee pot is drip, so bring your K-cup pot if desired. Also might want to bring a crockpot-we skied most days and enjoyed coming home to an almost-ready meal. There are plenty of baking dishes, cooking pans, & every gadget imaginable. WiFi worked great, decor is eclectic, homey, VERY comfortable.
The view will leave you standing jaw-dropped on the porch (or on the master bath toilet-just sayin'.)
The drive up the mountain is a bit daunting, but 4WD vehicles had no problem even in the ice/snow.
This is our 4th time renting with VCCR, and while we could opt for a package deal at the ski resort, I don't think we would enjoy the level of hospitality and professionalism the VCCR staff display. They scrambled to accommodate our lodging needs and Journey's End exceeded our e

We have rented from Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals in the past and are always impressed with the professionalism of the office and their genuine desire to make your stay comfortable....always available and helpful. Journey's End was exactly as described with so many amenities, a well stocked kitchen, and space for everyone. Our stay was magical. From sitting on the back porch rocking with beverage in hand, admiring the majestic view, playing checkers, watching Christmas movies, making ornaments for the tree that the owners provided (thank you)and while baking cookies for Santa it started snowing! It was so much fun to take the kids out identifying animal tracks and seeing deer in the woods, snowball fights, and sledding on our makeshift bin top sled. We toasted to my Mom(a Christmas baby)whose legacy we are passing on in creating memories with our families. This wonderful cabin and beautiful location was just the right fit in many, many ways.
Loved it!

We celebrated a birthday here and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Since it was during the pandemic, we ate in most of the time and the cabin had all the utensils and extras we needed for our meals. The hot tub was wonderful on those chilly mountain nights and we had plenty to do that we hardly turned on the TV. The view was beyond our expectations! Definitely the best cabin we've ever stayed in and hope to return.

We stayed at Journey’s End cabin for the weekend to celebrate my son’s 4th birthday. The cabin itself was so delightful - roomy but cozy, clean, well equipped, and perfectly secluded. The day we arrived, we received a call from VCCR to let us know that the heat was out. They offered us another cabin with the same amount of rooms on the spot - but we were really taken with the one we booked and it had a hot tub for the kids, which was top priority. So we opted to rough it by making fires all weekend. VCCR was very accommodating, even going into town to get us 8 space heaters to keep the cabin warm. They also called us to make sure we were ok abs staying warm. Despite the seemingly large hiccup, our stay was really great and we would do it again. The rental agency was very nice abs the cabin was truly a delight. It is very far up the mountain, so if you’re planning to do a lot of things, it’s both convenient Bc it’s in the middle of towns, but also a little inconvenient with how secluded it is up the mountain.
Wonderful spot on the mountain at a beautiful property

We just spent the weekend at Journey’s End to be close to ASU for Family Weekend. It was delightful. We loved the location and the view. The cabin has all of the amenities and has that “homey” feeling. The owners have beautiful pictures everywhere and have stocked it well for guests.
We loved every minute and will be back. This place is just great, and the rental company is excellent! They are very nice and are extremely responsive.

This cabin was awesome! The views from every room were spectacular. Very spacious, yet had that cozy cabin feel. It has every amenity you could possible need to make your stay perfect. The cabin was spotless. I can’t say enough good things about this location. It did not disappoint. Also Amber in the Managment office was wonderful to work with. We plan on returning.
