Description
Clouds Rest at Eagles Nest is a gorgeous, custom-built home with year long views over the Elk River Valley.
There is parking for the entire group at Clouds Rest, with a flat gravel parking area and two bays of the garage for guests to use. Three steps to enter provide easy access to the main floor. Enter the front door and you'll immediately see the gorgeous views through the large windows along the open concept great room. To the right is a beautiful kitchen with Cafe stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets, Flexbrew coffee for grounds or k-cups, and granite countertops. The island seats four, and the dining table comfortably seats up to 14. Tongue and groove ceilings house the built in Sonos speakers for the 75" tv over the gas log fireplace. Leather sofas and chairs give you a place to sit and relax.
On the main level are two Master King suites. To the left is a master king with deck access. The tiled shower is zero-entry for accessibility with an overhead rain shower plus a handheld wand and grab bars. There is also a large soaking tub and double granite vanity. To the left, near the garage entrance, is the second Master King, also with deck access. It has a large tiled shower with zero-entry access and grab bars, a built in bench, and the same overhead rain shower plus a handheld wand. Across the hall is the laundry center, complete with a sink and counters.
Downstairs is the entertainment room. There is a kitchen with a full sized fridge, sink, and wine cooler. For entertainment, there is a pool table, a game table and a closet full of games. The second fireplace and another 75" TV with Sonos soundbar are here. To the left is a Master Queen with deck access, a tiled shower with a six inch lip, and double granite vanity. To the right are the fourth and fifth bedrooms, and a Jack and Jill bathroom between the two with a tub/shower combination and a double granite vanity. To the left side is the queen bedroom, and to the right is the bunk room. Two sets of built in bunk beds each with a trundle means there are six full sized beds here. Little ones can also discover the nook in the back of the closet. The bunk room also has a 49" cable TV, Sonos speakers, and a DVD player.
If you like to experience the fresh air, there are two levels of decks. The top floor has a second eating area with a Weber grill and outdoor dining table for 12 (please note the Green Egg seen in the background of a few photos is not available to guests). The wood-burning fireplace has a sectional around it for chilly nights. The lower deck has a magnificent 8 person hot tub, a high top table, and a second wood-burning fireplace.
Additional Notes:
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.
- This home allows up to 2 dogs, max weight of 45lbs each, for $50 per night per pet. No cats, as the homeowner is extremely allergic.
- Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)
- The summer concerts are open to all guests however there may be an admission fee for each person and cash bar for food and drinks.
- The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months.
- Guests are not allowed to bring their own ATV's. For information about ATV rentals please visit: Off Road Adventures website
- All linens and towels provided.
- All Eagles Nest homes have an additional amenity fee in order to maintain the luxurious amenities.
- Security Cameras are in place outside of the home. These do not point into the home.
- Eagles Nest is an up and coming community, with construction currently going on in several of its neighborhoods. Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.
- Please note that all Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.
- Guests returning to Clouds Rest may receive a discount of 5% to the room rent, not to be combined with other discounts.

Clouds Rest was an absolute dream to stay at! We had 4 families total and everyone was very comfortable with plenty of room. The main event was most definitely the view! The sunrise and sunset were absolutely stunning. I now know how it got its name “Clouds Rest”. We will most definitely be coming back to this house! Clouds Rest is beautiful and was perfect for our family and friends who were with us. We loved having two master bedrooms and all of the room in the basement for the kids. We had 11 people in our group and we had plenty of space. Make sure you follow directions sent by the rental agency because GPS did not work for us. My family had a fabulous time on this mountain and in this home! There are so many things to do on Eagles Nest Mountain. We enjoyed hiking, mini golf, archery and live music Saturday night. The home had a great sound system for family movie night and lots of seating inside and out for family meals and games. You must plan to be home for the sunsets! Clouds Rest at Eagles Nest was a perfect venue for my husband and I, our three children and their spouses and our seven grandchildren. The view was spectacular, the house was roomy and comfortable and the second kitchen came in handy. Plenty to do in the outdoors. I have nothing but great things to say about the house, property, amenities and management team. This place was absolutely beautiful, clean, quiet and relaxing. It has everything you need and more. The description does not do justice to how much space is available. Sometimes trusting the pictures is a gamble but this home is even better than the pictures. All amenities were maintained and in perfect condition and property management was extremely great about responding promptly, leading up to and after our stay. What an amazing home and community. This home is located perfectly with great sunset views. We traveled with four families from all ages and had a great time. The home was clean with many upgrades such as the Sonos home theatre system with speakers located throughout the home. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and the adults enjoyed the views. There was no problem with renting the house. Customer service was very good. The house feels safe. The planning of the house is just genius. The views from the balconies you would have to just see for yourself. The house is super clean, and new seems like the house was just recently built. The fireplaces and hot tub were easy to use. The kitchen had everything you would need. Kitchen, living, and dining rooms were very spacious. The beds, linen, towels were included and were washed and clean. All the TVs were big and modern. The chimneys and fireplaces created a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The neighborhood is safe and clean. The driveway is big enough to fit about 15 cars. First class home with extra touches like Sonos sound throughout the home that you can enjoy from your phone. The kids can sled at the bottom of the hill in the backyard for hours. The kitchen allowed for unlimited food storage and overflow in the lower level bar area too, with a wine fridge too. The bunker room for the 10 kids we hosted was magical and perfect for our little ones, and parents too! Ha. Great communication via the VRBO app with the management team especially when we needed maintenance on a Saturday to help troubleshoot an amenity. We will be repeat customers of this VRBO! We had such an amazing time at the Clouds Rest home during our vacation. The view of the mountains is spectacular. This home is beautiful and had everything we needed. We traveled with four families (9 adults and 8 kids) and the house was spacious and so comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds and the adults enjoyed many nights in the hot tub and playing pool. The fire place outside was perfect for s'mores with the kids. We also loved The Great Camp area in the Eagles Nest property. All the kids loved playing in the tree house and the playground area. The house is super close to Sugar Mountain where we went skiing and tubing. We traveled in January and had so much fun playing in the snow around the house. Lots of snow ball fights and snow angels. One recommendation if you're traveling from far away is to make sure you rent a car with 4WD (especially in the winter). We had an amazing time and we couldn't have picked a more perfect home. Clouds Rest is gorgeous! Our experience with Blue Ridge Rentals was also exceptional. They answered all of my questions in a timely manner and provided all the information needed for our stay.
