Music in the Valle

Valle Crucis Park’s  annual Music in the Valle concert series begins May 26, 2017 and runs through September 8. Come enjoy concerts beginning at 7 p.m every Friday from May 26 – August 11, and at 6:30 p.m. August 18 –September 8. This affordable, family friendly activity is one people of all ages can enjoy! Though a donation to the park is encouraged, admission to the concerts is free. Seating is not provided, so bring chairs or a blanket and enjoy the eclectic sounds of local musicians all summer long!

Remarkable Rhododendron Ramble

From June 1-14 join the excitement as Grandfather Mountain showcases the remarkable beauty of this native plant during its peak blooming season. Take part in guided experiences led by knowledgeable naturalists, exploring the cultural history behind the plant, as well as its function in the wild landscape. In addition to this experience, Grandfather Mountain offers unmatched views, a mile high swinging bridge, walking and hiking chairs and much more.

Day Out With Thomas at Tweetsie Railroad

Tweetsie Railroad is a local staple and a must-see itself, but especially during June 9-18 for those visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains for a family vacation. Day Out with Thomas™: The Friendship Tour 2017 is pulling into Tweetsie Railroad. Day Out with Thomas™ is a fun-filled event that provides children of all ages the opportunity to climb aboard and take a ride with Thomas as well as participate in Thomas & Friends™ themed activities. Come out and take part of this themed event and the other offerings at this one-of-a-kind theme park.

Art in the Park

Nearby Blowing Rock’s Art in the Park kicked its season off on May 20 and is host to 90 artisans at each show. Come browse handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, photography, painting and more from some of the best local artists. Enjoy Art in the Park on June 10, July 15, August 12, September 9, and October 7 this year in downtown Blowing Rock.
