Mast Farm Inn

Original Mast General Store

Located in the heart of Valle Crucis is the Original Mast General Store. Still the center of the community, this store houses the Post Office and serves a 5¢ cup of coffee. Browsing the aisles you will find country gourmet foods, cast iron cookware, speckleware, old-fashioned toys, footwear, hardware, and so much more!

The Greenway Trail

Embark on a quick hike along one of the loops at The Greenway Trail and feast your eyes upon the historic ruins and stunning views.

Flat Top Manor

At the center of Moses Cone Memorial Park is a grand Colonial Revival style, white 20-room, 13,000 square foot mansion built in 1901 known as Flat Top Manor. Embark on a scenic drive along Blue Ridge Parkway and make a pitstop at Moses Cone which features twenty-five miles of carriage trails that wind through the fields and forests of the 3,500-acre estate. The trails are available to horse drawn carriages, horseback riding, and hiking. Experience views of the manor, the way the Cones family is said to have done along the Craftsman's Trail, a 20-minute loop walk around the Manor.

Tweetsie Railroad

This premier family fun park in Boone, NC, just a short drive from Valle Crucis, features a Western-themed ride on an authentic steam train. This steam train provided the Boone area with its first high-tech link to the outside world from the late 1800s to 1940. Engine 12 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and should be listed on your travel itinerary as well.
