Valle Crucis Log Cabin Rentals is the one of the oldest vacation rental companies in the High Country. We offer over 50 of the areas premier vacation rental properties featuring true log cabins and mountain style homes. Valle Crucis, so named in the 19th Century, is the only Rural Historic District in North Carolina. Our area is one of the highest locations in the oldest mountain chain in the United States. Located in the Appalachian Mountains in the northwest corner of North Carolina we are convenient to the other resort areas of Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Nestled along the Eastern Continental Divide at elevations of 3,000 to 5,000 feet you'll find lush open meadows surrounded by densely forested mountains that display natures most vivid color palette from season to season. You'll experience emerald green Summers, golden hued Falls, Winters glistening with white and Springs literally bursting with rainbows, each painted against crystal clear Carolina Blue skies...every season is a memory in itself.
Whether you are an individual, a couple, family or clan the thing you may find to be most intriguing is that we operate on "mountain time" up here.
Not literally but figuratively...things just move a little slower "round here". It may be due to the beauty, the peacefulness or just plain quiet...and once you notice it you tend to become part of it...you'll see. You'll stop at that roadside stand and buy a sack of fruit or vegetables or find one-of-a-kind crafts made by local artisans ...you'll pull off the road to take that "suitable for framing" picture...you'll spread out the blanket and listen to fiddles and banjos that'll just make you smile and worse give you a severe case of "happy feet". No matter what you do or where you go you'll take a little bit more time doing it...and you'll be glad you did.
